What is the article?


An article is a word that is used to specify the grammatical definition of the noun.

Types of Article


1. The indefinite article (A, An)


2. The definite article (The)


Use of "A"


👉A is used in the front of a singular countable noun (a person, animal or thing) which are not specified.


👉We don't use a before uncountable or plural noun.


👉If a noun starts with a sound constant sound (b, c, d, f, g, etc.), "a" comes before the noun.

Use of "An"


👉An is used in front of a singular countable noun which is not specified.


👉We don't use a before uncountable or plural noun.


👉If the noun starts with a vowel sound (a, e, I, o, u) An comes before the noun.

4.An orange


Use of "The"


👉 We use the in the front all nouns (It does not matter whether the noun is singular, plural countable or uncountable.


👉We use for someone or something specific or unique and universal truth.


👉 Example


1.The earth


2.The moon


3.The sky
